Playfield
From PinWiki
A playfield is a surface on which the pinball game takes place. It is generally constructed out of 1/2-inch hardwood plywood (birch, for example), and a standard playfield measures approximately 20 inches wide by 42 inches long. A playfield that is still under development is usually referred to as whitewood. Once the artwork for a game is ready, each color is individually screen-printed on the playfield. Modern games from the mid-1990's onward were then factory clear-coated to protect the paint.
