1 General Information

Star Wars was released by Stern in 2017. It was manufactured in 3 models:

  • Pro Edition
  • Premium Edition
  • Limited Edition

For more info, refer to the Star Wars page on Stern's website.

2 Software

2.1 Code Updates

The most recent code released for Star Wars is version 1.05.0 dated 10/12/2018. It can be downloaded from the following links:

2.2 SD Card Images

Stern also provides SD card images to re-create, if needed, the software on the SD card inserted into the CPU Node 0 board in the game. The 1.05.0 SD card images can be downloaded from the following links:

The instructions on how to re-create an SD card from these images can be found here.

3 Hardware

3.1 Switches, Lights, Coils, Etc.

The manuals do a good job of listing the individual switches, lights, coils (drivers), and motors used in the manual and cross-referencing the controlling node board and pin-outs, and associated part number. Refer to section 3 in the manuals for this detailed info.

3.2 Node Boards

The following node and sub-node boards are used in this game:

The manuals do a good job of showing the pinouts for each of the node and sub-node boards and what they connect to (i.e., switches, lamps, coils, motors, etc.). Refer to section 4 in the manual for details.

3.3 Rubber Rings

Refer to section "Playfield Rubber Parts" in section 5 of the manual for details.

4 Paperwork

4.1 Manuals

Manuals can be found on Stern's website:

4.2 Schematics

Schematics are not contained in the manuals. Stern has published some schematics for the node boards used in the game. Refer to the above "Node Boards" section for access to the schematics that are available.
