Data East Pinball, Inc. was a pinball manufacturer formed by Gary Stern and Joe Kaminkow in 1986. Originally operating in Stern's basement, the company accepted investment from Data East and then became Data East Pinball, Inc. In 1995 the company was sold to Sega. Kaminkow left for slot machine manufacturer IGT in 1998; in 1999 the company became Stern Pinball.
